closed at mile 5
10/9/21 Trail was closed near mile 5. Could see a truck and bulldozer. First time riding this trail and had no prewarning that it was closed. Will try it again one day.
Spanish Moss Trail
Lovely Trail
I rode this trail 11 May 2021 on my Catrike. At that time there was no construction on the trail itself although it appeared that there may have been some minor work being done on one of the trailhead parking areas on the southern end. The trail is absolutely delightful. Super smooth, the trail is a full 12 feet wide with a nice center lane marking for the full length of the trail. The only bump on the entire trail was in the bottom of an underpass where there was a length of grating to allow drainage. They could have done a better job of matching the heights on that!
I was staying at a B&B on Bay Street about a mile from the Depot so that is where I got on the trail, by biking from my home away from home. Hitting the trail I headed north until I ran out of trail, then reversed course until I ran out of trail on the southern end, then reversed again back to my starting point at the Depot. By the time I got back to the B&B my GPS told me I had gone just over 25 miles., I didn't see many military jets while on the trail but I certainly heard them. The trail goes quite close to Merrit Field, a Marine Corps Air Station, and they are quite active.

McQueen's Island Trail
is it open yet?
Does anyone know if the trail is completed at this point?
Spanish Moss Trail
Great ride
This trail is a must when in Beaufort SC. It's wide and paved and scenic.
Savannah & Ogeechee Canal Trail
Beautiful place
Used to come here as a kid. Still the same great place. It can be a little busy sometimes, but there's enough space. $5 entry for adults.
New River Linear Trail
nice little walk
Fun little walking trail that we like to take our pup on. We like going to the right towards the river at the end. I just wish it wasn't so straight however I realize it's an old railroad track.
New River Linear Trail
Not bad
The mulched path from the parking lot to the "trail" is definitely the nicest part. Too bad it's so short. The "trail" is really just a service road for some power lines. The power lines stretch the entire length, which isn't terrible but it isn't ideal. You're essentially walking through people's back yards for some of the trail and it even runs across the street of a neighborhood. But get into the marsh area towards the end and it's quite nice. There's even a little roofed bench out there to sit at for a while if you'd like. You're not very likely to run across anyone else out there.
Savannah & Ogeechee Canal Trail
The path starts off with numerous tree roots. Big ones you can see but lots more under the leaves. Very bumpy ride. Better for hiking.

New River Linear Trail
nice,quiet and straight
It's a nice easy walk. You can't get lost and there is signage explaining the area and sights. There are no restrooms or portopotty - So go To the restroom before you start your walk.
Spanish Moss Trail
Great rail trail in a town where I grew up. Takes you through some nice tidal grass and marsh land. Great to have this available, highly recommend ¿

McQueen's Island Trail
Still closed
This will once again be a nice ride when the work is completed. About 2 1/4 miles from the gate at the Ft. Pulaski end (which is closed and locked) a bridge is out and I thought impassable. Also, much of the trail is overgrown. The ranger at Ft. Pulaski, who does not care if you ride the trail, said the contractor keeps finding new problems and has to go back and renegotiate, so it may be a while before its finished.
